Overview

Reporting to

  • General Manager Regional Centre Africa

Main Objective

  • Steering and development of General Distributors and its dealer body in order to ensure parts sales growth in the Central African region
  • Steering and development of optimal planning and reporting tools according to Daimler Headquarter requirements
  • Ensuring Compliance and Business Ethics according to Laws and Daimler rules and regulations

Responsibilities

General Distributors Central Africa

  • Strategic co-ordination of parts sales process and positioning per market
  • Coaching and qualification of sales personnel
  • Support and direction in day-to-day business
  • Co-ordinated customer approaches in fleet business (key account management)
  • Definition of parts sales targets (quantitative and qualitative) and controlling of target achievement
  • Safeguard compliance measures implemented

Headquarters Germany

  • Operational planning per year based on market by market for quantitative and qualitative aspects
  • Monthly parts sales planning and reporting by volume and pricing targets
  • Market analysis including fleet deals and lost sales
  • Determination and Monitoring of product program in the markets of responsibility
  • Price positioning on fleet deals with proper approval process
  • Accurate entering of agreed pricing conditions to ensure on time deliveries
  • Co-ordination with Treasury department to ensure on time payments by L/C if applicable
  • Future co-ordination in regards to direct sales to specific markets
  • Coordination of logistics with relevant department in Daimler HQ
  • Development of marketing plans per market together with the Marketing department with the proper follow-up and implementation

Daimler Commercial Vehicles Africa

  • Development of a market specific Parts Strategy in relation to the overall CV Africa strategy
  • Ensure that parts sales and other activities are performed in regulation with Daimler compliance procedures
  • Co-ordination with the Customer Service department in regards to customer satisfaction and General Distributor performance
  • Definition of specifications and relevant price positioning per segment per market

Daimler Commercial Vehicles Africa, Nairobi coordination office

  • Make the best use of coordination office for day to day communication with General distributors
  • Co-ordination for the AS Training requirement of the GDs
  • Understand and react based on market and competitive situation in the region

Others

  • Investigation into competitor market potentials by market
  • Co-ordination of Parts sales activities with Daimler Africa
  • Co-ordination of Network development issues with Daimler Network Development team in Regional centre Africa
  • Regular training on parts sales tools and internal processes

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Wholesale and/or Retail sales experience in the parts sales business of min 2 years
  • Leadership experience preferable
  • Engineering background / thorough technical understanding of the Products
  • Extensive knowledge of the Automotive, Commercial Vehicle and Parts Industry
  • English and or French communication, Mercedes-Benz Bus Products
  • Cultural knowledge of the African region

Qualification

  • Graduate degree in Business Engineering or equivalent qualification, Business communication in English, Product troubleshooting
