GSP/OGP Senior Manager

 

Main Objective

 

By running a Logistic Center in a multicountry region, to ensure and enhance the parts supply chain for all market brands to the General Distributor network in U.A.E., Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq and to the dealers network in Egypt. This is to be realized in line with the changing logistical requirements of the markets, under cost efficiency aspects and in line with the agreed target commitments with GSP/OG.

As Head of the Industrial Premises in Dubai and Head of the LC Cairo, ensure the performance of the organization by managing day to day operations, in accordance with the direction and policies established by Daimler AG and GSP. Assure the organization’s compliance with all their legal and social responsibilities, and the organizations alignment with the GSP mission and vision.

 

Responsibilities

Managing the Operations and Supply-chain Management

  • Ensure effective and efficient operational logistics management of parts in order to ensure the agreed level of performance and service in the delivery and return processes of parts.
  • Define transportation needs and strategy together with GSP logistics and MPCs/MOCs/GDs in the Middle East and dealers in Egypt. Based on dealer/retailer Master data, negotiate transportation conditions with forwarders, control transportation performance and costs.
  • Planning, steering and controlling of the necessary IT support and maintenance of buildings and equipment.
  • Based on the overall responsibility for the RLCME trade license as Head of the Industrial Premises in Dubai may escalate issues of conflict to the responsible supervising business or functional departments.
  • Ensure efficient Warehouse operations in Dubai and Cairo through Warehouse Service Provider (NEOVIA) defining and achieving KPIs operational targets and monitoring them in a regular basis and collaborating in the management and implementation of the Warehouse processes.
  • Control and follow-up of the NEOVIA costs in Dubai and Cairo in a monthly basis.
  • Monitoring and controlling all the contractual issues in cooperation with GSP/OGP and GSP/OLW.

Continuous Improvement

  • Developing the operations in order to cope with the constantly changing logistic market requirements. Guarantee optimal parts supply to the retailers.
  • Contribute to the targets by employing effectively the personnel and resources at appropriate costs, and under consideration of health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure transparent communication of the best practice approaches around the global organization GSP/OG. Continually optimize the warehouse structure and the operational and administrative processes.

Training

  • Ensuring training according to requirements in order to safeguard the supply of junior talent
  • Ensuring that all training measures required by law are implemented

Assortment Policy

  • Monitor the procurement-strategy together with OG, OL and other suppliers and ensure an efficiently service-level to the market/retail network.
  • Ensure an effective Vendor-Management for all brands and order types.
  • Clearing of LCs cluster assortment (Dubai and Cairo), in order to reach service degree desired with consideration of the costs.
  • Ensure the GSP/GLC inventory processes including permanent and random sample counting. Implement actions to minimize claims, scrap, damage and returns.

First Level CRM/Retail Support (for Parts Technical and Logistics dealer hotlines)

  • Manage Customer Relationship
  • Management in order to answer efficiently to the market requirements.
  • Ensure the logistical support to the network.
  • Steer and Monitor the order and deliveryprocesses in order to get an optimized service level.
  • Support and contribute to regional/national parts and accessories sales and marketing activities in order to support the optimization of the market penetration, in cooperation with OG, OL and the MPCs, MOCs and GDs in the Middle East and dealers in Egypt.
  • Monitor order and logistic behaviour of the General Distributors.

Planning, Monitoring and Controlling

  • Prepare the annual Operative Planning in cooperation with GSP/OG, FMS and the MPCs, MOCs and GDs in the Middle East and dealers in Egypt.
  • Control and Maintenance of the Cluster-Budget in order to secure efficiencies.
  • Steering through Controlling and Reporting statistics.
  • To work out targets on basis of given planning parameters and own estimate for target agreement with GSP/OG.
  • Judge by economic analyses deviations and introduction of corrective measures for reaching a high service level while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Controlling and monitoring of the included teams of the Cluster (Middle East and Egypt).
  • Assess the principal risks of the organization and to ensure that these risks are being monitored and managed.

Human Resources Leadership, Planning & Development

  • To ensure the Cluster is appropriately organized and staffed.
  • Lead, motivate and develop allocated employees by target agreements and performance evaluations on the basis of the mission statement. Ensure targetoriented internal communication and task related qualification.
  • Staff development in coordination with HR personnel planning. Ensure that the bestsuitable candidates are hired and the employees get the proper development chances, training and promotions.
  • Be a role model for all the RLCME and MB Egypt Employees.

Compliance

  • To ensure that the organization has appropriate processes to enable it to conduct its activities both lawfully and ethically, as well as compliant with all Daimler regulations.
  • To ensure that the organization maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility wherever it does business.

Representation Tasks and Co-operations with GSP Logistics

  • Represent GSP Logistics within the assigned markets and secure a positive image with capability.
  • Participate and contribute to meetings with GSP. Assist in the formation of business policies/best practices and to represent the specific interests of GLC Logistics, Cluster and the local markets requirements.
  • Collaborate in Strategic alignment and further development of parts logistic and ensure realization within the Cluster according to GSP guidelines.
  • Collaborate in business policy of the parts business and promote interests of the Cluster within GSP and MPCs/MOCs/GDs/dealers.
  • Assumption of tasks of representation and communication in the interest of Daimler, GSP and the Cluster / Industrial Premises towards external and internal parties, in order to secure the positive image of Daimler.

Knowledge/Skill/Experience

  • Specific knowledge of logistic processes and aftersales business.
  • Controlling and Finance knowledge.
  • Languages (English). German and Arabic are assets.
  • Experience in Leadership and managing an extensive team. Managing Intercultural teams experience will be an asset.

Qualification

  • University Degree (Engineering, Economics) Master in Business Administration preferred.
