Reporting to

Head of Regional Centre Africa

Main Objective
Defining and implementing strategies/concepts for prospecting, establishing and ensuring qualitative development of optimized Retail Sales and After-Sales organization to achieve profit/market share targets for Mercedes-Benz Trucks & Buses, Fuso Trucks & Buses and to offer dealers/general distributor a long-term, attractive Daimler Commercial Vehicles franchise.


Network Strategy and Network Planning

  • Analysing the market-specific requirements and Develop/support an optimized retail network strategy in cooperation with Sales and After-Sales departments. General Distributor/Dealer prospecting, selection and appointment in targeted regions and ensuring targeted infrastructure development and expansion
  • Developing strategic alignment on process and define/implement Dealer Standards, Compliance, trainings, and facilitate audits
  • Define, negotiate and follow-up development targets with General Distributors
  • Derive and implement innovative methods to set up low cost infrastructure/solutions to expand the current network/reach with minimum investment from GD’s

Business Management

  • Planning and implementation of Marketing and Fleet activities in Central African regions, in consultation with other stake holders (Sales, Customer Service, etc.)
  • Establishing an efficient business management system to maintain and monitor the attractiveness/profitability of the Daimler Commercial Vehicles franchise
  • Developing and implementing controlling parameters for the self-control of dealers
  • Analysing and monitoring main competitor’s networks, market situation and defining Daimler Strategy
  • Developing and implementing dealer qualification programs

Distributor Retail Standards

  • Deriving, monitoring and implementing regional distributor retail standards for standardization across network and to increase customer satisfaction

Corporate Identity and Building Projects

  • Implementing CI philosophy in the market and including CI topics in target agreements with GDs/dealers
  • Selection and qualification of national/regional CI suppliers in cooperation with central divisions
  • Consult and follow-up building projects based on Network Development plan from planning until opening, including audit before official opening

Dealer Management System

  • Implementation and further development of a Dealer Management System for all major and relevant markets in Central Africa region

Communication within Organization/ Network partners and Consulting

  • Ensuring effective communication within Daimler Organization/Network partners (retail, wholesale, headquarters, etc.)
  • Supporting GDs/dealers as consultant for all topics relevant to them
  • Organize regional GD/dealers meets

Retail consulting and HR development

  • Derive/develop concepts to professionalize the processes of the GD retail organization concerning Sales and After-Sales as well as setting framework for HR Organisation

Compliance and Integrity

  • Ensure a sustainable environment of Compliance and Integrity in area of responsibility
  • Completion of GD Due Diligence and Integrity checks on time

  • Specific knowledge of the markets, competition and KD operation
  • Several years of experience in International Sales/Network Organization as well as Headquarters
  • Extensive knowledge of business administration as well as knowledge of the automotive business and dealer network management
  • Excellent English language skills (Fluent French or German is a plus)
  • Microsoft Office knowledge especially MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

University degree / Bachelor level in business administration or equivalent
