Main Objective

 

Lead the team ‘Planning & Reporting’ within the Mercedes-Benz Trucks business unit and continuously strive to enhance the toolset for the Sales and Customer Services and Parts business planning, analysis and reporting. Further shape and develop a holistic and exemplary business performance. Operational excellence through provision of both, accuracy and highest possible transparency to the DCV MENA Management and Sales teams and Daimler Headquarters. Drive and collaborate with Daimler Headquarters on ongoing and planned business development projects, pricing discussions and major planning milestones. Ensure close and collaborative interaction with all relevant cross-functional stakeholders. Serve the role of Business Development in terms of driving BD projects with Headquarters and pride Planning & Reporting Consulting to General Distributors.

Responsibilities

Business Steering Model and General Distributor Target Agreements (TA)

  • Coordinate the guideline and associated policies and steer the approval process of TA
  • Evaluate and illustrate the financial impact of the bonus relevant components defined by Market Management together with the relevant F&C departments (incl. accruals)
  • Provide business KPI data set to Sales & CSP Regional Management for establishment of the GD Target Agreements; support regular/periodical checks of the target fulfillment status and business performance
  • Ensure compliant evaluation and documentation of the GD Bonus achievement and related pay-out/credit notes with Headquarter cross-functions and F&C departments; provide related data to Regional Management

Vehicle and Parts Sales Business Planning

  • Homologation of central premises and validation of OP/EA-walk indicators (controllable effects) incl. elaboration of required accruals; set and align DCV MENA specific parameter like performance seasonality
  • Evaluate and provide actuals and estimations for operative planning in timely manner in close cooperation with all concerned functions; coordinate and align related reports
  • Transparent and substantiated illustration of the OP/EA-walk for the region on basis of the individual market performance and development
  • Elaborate, coordinate and pre-discuss all relevant documents for the mid-year Market Alignment Discussion; coordinate the course of action of the related meeting
  • Assure documentation and distribution of agreed submissions
  • Liaise and assist the sales team in monitoring & managing quota and production allocation for MB Trucks

Sales & CSP Business Analysis & Reporting

  • Ensure a structured, standardized and automated report compilation; perform consistency checks
  • Issue and provide regular/periodic reports tailored to the target audience (i.e. Market Management, DCV MENA Senior Management) as basis for decision-making
  • Overall integration of all After-Sales Service & Parts KPI reporting activities in close cooperation within the departments and relevant DCV MENA functions
  • Regularly report the financial parts business development and performance; coordinate data sourcing, integrate qualitative evaluation from Market Management and provide executive summary
  • Elaborate and update the financial part for the monthly CV ExCom Meeting and regular BDM meetings; coordinate the preparation of the report chapters administered by the After-Sales departments
  • Perform variance analysis and target-performance comparison of year-to-date actuals versus Operative Planning, Expectations, previous year performance; illustrate deviations and highlight need for action
  • Comment the business development and performance on a regional level
  • Initiate and coordinate potential analysis in close cooperation with Daimler Headquarters; prepare and provide cleansed data reports to Market Management
  • Support the Sales & CSP Market Management in analysis and evaluation of GD business performance

Business Development and Project Management

  • Consolidate inputs from Sales and Finance teams regarding on major planning and pricing activities, and serve as the main contact towards headquarters in MAD discussions and pricing discussions
  • Collect and document planning & reporting procedures at General Distributors and provide advice/consultation on developing the function to bring closer to Daimler methodologies and best practices
  • Maintain and develop planning & reporting tools used by sales and CSP teams, and provide advice on planning activities

Sales & CSP Business Processes and Tools/Systems

  • Ensure process stability, efficiency and accuracy
  • Keep process documentation up-to date in case of process adjustments
  • Initiate and lead projects for enhancement of the reporting landscape and toolset
  • Provide support & guidance to internal colleagues (Sales and CSP teams) and GDs related to Planning & Reporting processes and tools/systems

Sales & CSP Market Intelligence

  • Create reports on total market and SoM development for core markets, compliant with Anti-Trust laws
  • Analyze market trends and derive measures aligned with Sales & CSP teams

Integrity and Compliance

  • Promote and support integrity within the Planning, Product Management and Marketing team
  • Ensure successful implementation of all compliance related tools, systems and processes
  • In coordination with the LCM / GC organize compliance trainings for the MB Trucks team

Leadership

  • Assure timely completion of the LEAD process elements with the team (i.e. Target Agreement, Individual Development Plan)
  • Provide regular, standardized updates on the own area of responsibility to the Head of Planning, Product Management and Marketing to safeguard smooth and efficient business processing; discuss and share current developments to spark further development of the assigned tasks
  • Establish and maintain a close and constructive rapport within the team and towards all relevant stakeholders

Knowledge/Skill/Experience

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the automotive business, preferably on Wholesale and/or Retail level
  • Sound and profound understanding of (MB Commercial Vehicles) Sales and CSP business planning, analysis and reporting
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Above average strategic and conceptual competencies
  • Deep and detailed understanding of business/financial interrelations and interdependencies
  • Ability to handle, oversee and manage complex cross-functional and multisource topics
  • Distinctive stakeholder-oriented thinking and acting
  • Highly developed competence to deal with contrary situations and overcoming resistances
  • Professional utilization of standard PC programs (Windows OS, Outlook, Office suite) and advanced Excel / Access knowledge
  • Experience with databases / data management advantageous
