    Head of Sales and Marketing – Mercedes-Benz Military Vehicles

    Main Objective

    • Key stakeholder for all transactions & activities in conjunction with the General Distributors of the assigned territories.
    • Role model of ‘Professionalism & Performance’ for the General Distributors in order to be in line with Mercedes-Benz’ guiding theme ‘The Best or Nothing’.
    • Work autonomously to a great extent and foster a close collaboration across all Daimler Commercial Vehicles business units, while keeping concerned peers and the Head of Sales and Marketing informed.


    • Ensure that all quantitative and qualitative targets are achieved for the assigned territories.
    • Ensure that all applicable internal & external rules and regulations are followed at all times.
    • Promote the entire Mercedes-Benz Military Product Portfolio to General Distributors & Ministries of Defence (military G-Class, Products of Mercedes-Benz, Brazil and Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks, Germany) using, for example, product presentations, vehicle demonstrations, exhibitions, factory visits, etc.
    • Implement MBMV Sales & Marketing tools at the General Distributors.
    • Identify and explore existing & additional sales opportunities within the General Distributors & Ministries of Defence.
    • Provide support & guidance for the General Distributors in the assigned territories.
    • Provide frequent trainings/refresher courses for the General Distributors’ key personnel in the assigned territories.
    • Identify weaknesses and/or reasons within the General Distributors in case the aforementioned is not achieved; subsequent definition and execution of measures to overcome the weaknesses.
    • Provide accurate and timely reporting at all times.
    • Provide support for General Distributors in assigned territories in their operational business, including but not limited to: tender preparation, definition of suitable Mercedes-Benz products, bodybuilder requirements & solutions, marketing measures, liaising with CSP/Aftersales, etc.
    • Promote the assignment of dedicated Key Account Managers for Military Business within General Distributors in the assigned territories.
    • Provide accurate and up-to-date data for the existing planning & reporting tools (‘Cockpit’).
    • Ensure successful auditability of and easy referencing to any transaction, including accurate filing.
    • Provide support for the Head of Sales & Marketing towards internal and external partners when unlocking identified sales opportunities.
    • Provide support in defining and executing the 4 Marketing Ps for all Mercedes-Benz Military Vehicles.
    • Evaluate and potentially set-up of co-operations with bodybuilders in assigned territories as an additional sales channel.
    • Coordinate and align all transactions and activities with all collaborating departments within PBG (for the military G-Class), MB Brazil (for products of Mercedes-Benz Brazil), Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks (for products of Mercedes-Benz Germany) and all other departments including but not limited to: Global Compliance, Export Control, Legal, Finance & Controlling, etc.
    • Coordinate and align all transactions and activities for General Distributors in assigned territories with counterparts throughout the RC MENA, including but not limited to: MB Trucks, CSP, MB Buses, MB Vans, Finance & Controlling, Training, etc. to ensure a joint Mercedes-Benz approach towards each General Distributor.
    • Ensure completion of required regular training /updates on compliance topics, product information and, sales and marketing tools; mainly via training courses or independently.

    • Excellent knowledge of Commercial Vehicles industry at a sales level is a must.
    • Engineering background and/or a thorough technical understanding/experience is a must.
    • Knowledge of (Mercedes-Benz) Special Trucks on a sales level is preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge about the Middle Eastern and/or North African culture is preferred but not required.
    • Minimum 3 years wholesale and/or retail experience in the Commercial Vehicles industry.
    • Knowledge of governmental sales is preferred but not required.
    • Excellent Knowledge about Microsoft Office applications (especially MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word) is a must.
    • Heavy truck license is preferred but not required.
    • Experience in off-road driving, especially sand, is preferred but not required.
    • Languages: English is a must – Arabic, German and/or French are a plus.


    • Graduate degree in Business Management / Business Engineering or comparable education
