    Main Objective


    The objective of the corporate communication role (external & internal communications) is to ensure active, professional, consistent and effective communication of all Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA (DCV MENA) corporate related news and information to regional media and defined targeted audiences as well as to inform, connect and engage employees at DCV MENA in accordance with the organization’s cultural values and overall business objectives.


    External communication includes coordination of media planning, briefing and steering of external suppliers and agencies as well as the execution of market/competitive research and data gathering programs, aiming to acquire market and business intelligence as basis for corporate communications planning and recommendations.


    Furthermore, this function is responsible for developing and implementing external communication on social media which are aligned with business strategies.


    Internal Communication includes responsibility for developing and executing a comprehensive communications plan to effectively deliver relevant messages to staff, appropriately represent DCV’s values and priorities, and foster trust and transparency across the organization. This role is also in charge of planning and coordinating company events and initiatives aimed at employee engagement and wellbeing, as well as strengthening corporate culture and brand ambassadorship.

    Responsibilities

    External Communications

    • Develop, align and implement a social media plan and communication strategy for DCV MENA
    • Gather, edit, align relevant media content with all DCV MENA Business Units (Mercedes-Trucks, Fuso, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Daimler Buses) as well as with Daimler Corporate Communications departments in Stuttgart and Tokyo
    • Briefing and project management of external media agencies and suppliers
    • Provision of content to Media Agency, proof-reading and final approval
    • Establishment and maintenance of media relations
    • Media monitoring to ensure coverage and effectiveness of media activities and monitor media presence and activities of competitors
    • Exchange relevant corporate communication/press releases with General Distributors
    • Organize and accompany media trips to Germany (fairs/exhibitions, events)
    • Ensure brand building & maintenance (Mercedes-Benz, Fuso)
    • Develop into the role of becoming spokesperson for DCV MENA

    Internal Communications

    • Develop, align and implement internal communications & events plan in line with budget and business objectives
    • Define relevant communication channels, topics and resource requirements
    • Improve and maintain processes and standards for internal communications
    • Implement communication activities in close alignment with stakeholders – support the business with drafting content and distributing it through appropriate channels, design and layout email communications, corporate intranet sites and articles, as well as other relevant communication formats
    • Provide professional photography and videography services to business

    Corporate events, conferences and fairs

    • Plan, organize and execute cross-divisional corporate events, conferences and fairs/exhibitions for DCV MENA

    Knowledge/Skill/Experience

    • Professional experience in the PR/Communications sector (2-4 years)
    • Automotive business experience preferable
    • Sound and profound understanding of Media and Public relations, preferred in the MENA region
    • Editor experience adjuvant
    • Excellent networker and open-minded personality not hesitating to be exposed to larger audiences and media
    • Knowledge of graphic design, photo and video editing
    • Deep and detailed understanding of media and public relations
    • Ability to handle, oversee and manage complex cross-functional and multisource topics
    • Distinctive stakeholder-oriented thinking and acting
    • Professional utilization of standard PC programs (Office suite, Outlook)
    • Languages – English is a must, German / Arabic / French is preferable but not required

    Qualification

    • University degree education; preferred in Communications/PR/Journalism, Economics, Marketing or Humanities
