  • Overview


    Head of Sales and Customer Services Mercedes-Benz Trucks RC Africa


    Main Objectives

    • Actively manage the development of General Distributors in order to ensure maximum Sales & Marketing opportunities of MB Trucks are achieved, in the allocated markets within RC Africa region, involving potentially both CBU and/or CKD production
    • Steering and monitoring of the entire customer database incl. retail business, national fleets and regional key accounts, per market, with the aim to maximize Sales as well as potential Aftersales revenue opportunities, in co-ordination with CSP market managers


    Sales & Marketing

    • Definition of annual target agreement for GDs (quantitative and qualitative) with continuous performance monitoring of achievements
    • Management and co-ordination of customer database and customer visits
    • Management and co-ordination of sales/enquiry management per market with won/lost sales
    • Development of marketing plans in co-ordination with RC Africa Marketing department with proper follow up and implementation of material/actions/events
    • Processing and evaluation of the special discount inquires of GDs
    • Regular market & customer visits within allocated markets (70% time in market)
    • Constant co-ordination with CSP teams to align/further drive revenues per market
    • Monitoring of Distributor Retail Standards in co-ordination with Network Development

    Sales Planning and Operations

    • Operational Planning (OP) for quantities and qualitative aspects
    • Monthly Kufri planning and reporting by volume and pricing targets
    • Co-ordination with Order Center/Logistics at DAG Stuttgart for timely shipping
    • Accurate entering of agreed pricing conditions to ensure on time deliveries
    • Analysis and reporting of price positioning, per segment, per market
    • Definition and co-ordination of product types, specifications and technical requirements with support from Product Management
    • Feedback and information regarding homologation of vehicles per market

    Key Account Management / Body Builder Management / Leasing

    • Co-ordination and business development with body builders & financing entities, directly and/or indirectly, to maximize all sales opportunities
    • Co-ordinated approach to technical requirements with Product Management
    • Steering & development of National Fleet/Key Account customer fleet database and regular updating of the central KAM database

    Customer Dedication

    • Continuous alignment of Sales & Customer Service & Parts activities with RC Africa CSP team in order to align and further drive the downstream performance
    • Co-ordination of Network Development requirements with RC Africa ND Team
    • Supporting role in continuous improvement of dealer retail performance (DRS)

    • Graduate Degree in Business Engineering, Business Administration and/or equivalent qualification
